We want to be as fair as we can and help you to make the right purchasing decision, so wherever possible and appropriate we have provided additional information to help you.

Product selection

To best ensure your satisfaction. Over 90% of our products are hand selected. This is particularly the case for silver jewellery and ornaments, our policy is not to purchase such items without first viewing the quality.

photographs

Product photographs are taken in a portable studio flash lighting with a high quality digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera. This enables us to provide images that closely represent the final product. It is important to stress the limitations of photographs:

• The beauty of some of the stones (particularly translucent or iridescent stones) seldom comes across on the final photograph
• The quality of the lenses and their magnification often reveal every minor blemish, please bear in mind that most of the time any blemishes will be totally unseen by the naked eye, particularly at normal viewing distances.
• True colours are impossible to reproduce on conventional monitors, so please do not rely on colours.

We go to great lengths to prepare every photograph for web use using Adobe Photoshop CS. We adjust the colouring where necessary to match the actual item on a high quality LCD display. However, different displays and settings mean that the colours you view online may be different to what we see on our display.

None of our photographs are taken to scale, which is why we provide dimensions and weights wherever possible. Generally we provide the largest image possible so you get the best picture of the product so it is particularly important that dimensions are considered when making a purchase.

Dimensions and weights

Dimensions are made using accurate digital vernier callipers, we always round down any dimensions so the product you buy will never be smaller than the sizes specified*. We never exaggerate sizes up to make a product look better value. Generally unless stated otherwise sizes of jewellery do not include fittings (this would make the product appear to be bigger than it really is and cause you to be mislead, which is not our aim!).

Weights of small items are measured using digital jewellers scales that are recalibrated prior to use. Larger items are weighed on digital kitchen scales. We always round down the weight of an item so you do not receive an item that weighs less than we have stated*.
