Citrine comes in two forms, natural citrine is a translucent gemstone with a straw or pale yellow brown appearance. Citrine can also be formed by heat treating amethyst and when this occurs the purple amethyst colour changes to an orangey brown. Citrine formed from heat treated amethyst tends to be much brighter in colour. For healing citrine is associated with the solar plexus chakra. It is considered to have a calming effect on the mind and brings about increasing confidence, reducing anxieties and increasing optimism.
