This faceted amethyst has been placed in the centre of this silver pentagram, and encircled with a silver ring.
The Pentagram is one of the world's most ancient symbols. To the Wiccan the 5 points of the star each represent an element - air, fire, water, earth and spirit . Wiccans usually put the symbol in a circle, as in this pendant, which has traditionally represented the endless or eternity. The ancient Chinese believed there were five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water), five planets, five seasons, five senses, as well as five basic colours, sounds and tastes. It is a symbol of magick and protection.
