Hematite is a heavy gemstone which appears like a lump of coal when unpolished, but when polished produces a highly reflective finish. It can come in either magnetised or unmagnetised forms. Unmagnetised hematite has the ability to become magnetised by placing in a strong electromagnetic field.
The main use of hematite in healing is for grounding and protecting negative energies from entering the aura. Hematite is considered as a gemstone which helps provide inner strength. For chakra healing hematite can be used as either a grounding stone or placed on the base chakra.
